Czech tennis player Markéta Vondroušová has reached the fourth round of
a Grand Slam tournament for the first time. The 19-year-old swept aside
Anastasija Sevastova in the third round of the French Open in Paris on
Sunday, beating the Latvian 6-2 6-0 in under an hour. Her next opponent
will be Petra Martic of Croatia, who earlier knocked out Karolína
The Czech Republic’s Kateřina Siniaková is also into the fourth round at Roland Garros.

Karolína Plískova captured the biggest clay title of her career by
beating Britain’s Johanna Konta 6-3, 6-4 Sunday in the Italian Open final
in Rome on Sunday.
The victory will move Plískova up to No. 2 in the rankings and makes her one of the contenders for the French Open, which starts next weekend. It is the thirteenth title in her career.
Czech tennis players Karolína Plíšková and Markéta Vondroušová have
made it to the quarter-finals of the WTA tournament in Rome.
Plíšková on Thursday defeated the American Sofia Kenin in three sets, by a score of 4: 6, 6: 4 and 6: 3. Vondroušová beat the Russian Darja Kassatkina, also in three sets, by a score of 7: 5, 2: 6 and 6: 2.
Meanwhile, Petra Kvitová is out of the tournament due to a calf injury. in the second round she forfeited to Greek qualifier Maria Sakkari.
Czech tennis player Petra Kvitová is through to her fifth career quarter
final at the Madrid Open. The Defending Champion defeated Caroline Garcia
of France 6-3, 6-3 in the third round. She will face Kiki Bertens of the
Netherlands in the next round.
Kvitová already holds three titles from the Madrid Open WTA tournament, from 2011, 2014, and 2018.
