Approximately 100 passengers arriving at Václav Havel Airport Prague on
Sunday morning were evacuated from the plane by slides due to a suspected
fire. No one was injured, airport spokesperson Marika Janoušková said.

Boeing’s gigantic 787 Dreamliner is set to launch regular service from Václav Havel Airport Prague. The Dreamliner, which has a capacity for 254 passengers, will be deployed by Qatari Airways on the route from Prague to Doha as of October 28, Prague’s Václav Havel Airport informed in a press release on Monday.
Several dozen people gathered at Studenka ,the site of one of the worst
rail accidents on Czech territory in 2008, to pay homage to the victims and
express their dissatisfaction with the fact that no one has been held
accountable for the tragedy.
Ten years ago today, a bridge undergoing reconstruction unexpectedly collapsed onto the tracks and minutes later an international express train ploughed into the debris. Eight people died in the accident and 95 were injured.
The courts have dealt with the case for nine years now and all those charged have so far been cleared because there was not sufficient proof they were responsible for the tragedy through negligence or otherwise.
Fourteen people were injured when a passenger train ploughed into a tractor
near the town of Písek on Tuesday. The tractor driver allegedly ignored
the red lights on the crossing. Six people were taken to hospital, eight
were treated by paramedics on the spot.
The track will remain closed to traffic for the rest of the day and Czech Railways has arranged a replacement bus service for passengers.
A divisive ban on cycling in areas of downtown Prague has been overturned following a legal challenge from an activist group. Cyclists will now be able to return to pedestrian zones such as Old Town Square. However, local politicians continue to argue that bikes don’t belong in the historical city centre.

Firefighters have extinguished fires near a railway line between the
northern Bohemian towns of Lovosice and Ústí nad Labem, but both domestic
and international train travel in the area has halted.
Police have also closed a road running alongside the rails. Until their investigation is complete, drivers should expect heavy congestion, especially along routes from Ústí nad Labem and Děčín to Dresden, Germany.
