Speed skater takes gold in first World Cup race of new season

Czech speed skater Martina Sáblíková has entered the new World Cup season with a victory in the 3,000 metres event in Chinese Harbin. Sáblíková covered the distance with a time of 4:08.26, ahead of Marije Joling of the Netherlands and Ivanie Blondin of Canada. It is the 43rd individual victory in World Cup event for the 29-year-old Czech.
