The 73rd edition of the Prague Spring International Music Festival gets underway on Saturday evening. The event’s traditional curtain raiser will take place at the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House with a rendition of Smetana’s My Country, this time performed by the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of Tomáš Netopil. There will also be a live relay of the concert at Prague’s Kampa.
This year’s Prague Spring will celebrate the centenary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia with a number of works by modern Czech composers.
