Interior minister requests meeting of National Security Council

Interior Minister Milan Chovanec has requested a meeting of the National Security Council in connection with the allegations of corruption surrounding the state-owned company Czech Post, which falls under the Interior Ministry, and himself. Minister Chovanec requested the meeting citing a threat to the economic interests of the state-owned company and efforts to destabilize the situation at the Interior Ministry. The allegations of corruption, according to which a member of the Social Democratic Party requested a 3 million crown bribe, of which one million was to be for Minister Chovanec himself, appeared on the internet news site neovlivni.cz.
