Inflation above 5 % for the first time in six years

Year-on-year inflation increased from 4% in October to 5% in November, the Czech Statistical Office said on Monday. It is the highest rate since August 2001, when the inflation reached 5.5%. Prices of food products and, to a lesser extent, also beer and fuel were behind the accelerated inflation. Experts say the peak of inflation is yet to come. It is expected to break the 6% level at the beginning of the next year.
