Europa League ties bring mixed results for Czech clubs

The fourth round of matches in the Europa League group stage brought mixed results for the three Czech clubs in the competition. Sparta Prague took a massive step towards the next stage with a 2:0 home win against Israeli club Hapoel Beer Sheva. The opening goal resulted from a lucky deflected shot from Dočkal with Lafata extending the lead before half time. Liberec though went down 0:3 against Italian club Fiorentina and will need a miracle to progress out of the group stage. Viktoria Plzeň drew 1:1 against Romanian club Astra Giurgui and remain at the bottom of their group.
