Czechs playing final friendly before campaign for Euro 2012 begins

The Czech Republic’s footballers are preparing for a friendly match against Latvia in Liberec on Wednesday evening. Coach Michal Bílek is without three players for the game: goalkeeper Petr Čech, striker Milan Baroš and midfielder Tomáš Sivok. Forward Roman Bednář is expected to make his first appearance for the national side since being photographed by a UK tabloid buying drugs last year. Next month the Czechs – who failed to make it to this summer’s World Cup – start their campaign to reach the 2012 European Championship with a tie against Lithuania. Their group also includes world champions Spain, Scotland and Liechtenstein.
