Cancer awareness campaigner Lucie Bittalová dies at 27

Cervical cancer awareness campaigner Lucie Bittalová has died at the age of 27. She became well-known for a campaign in the summer of this year highlighting prevention of the disease, which she herself was suffering from. Bittalová was last month named PR Personality of the Year for the campaign. She became the target of abuse for her work with the anti-racism project Hate Free Culture, with a member of an anti-Muslim group suggesting in a blog that she had brought the illness on herself and was spreading negative energy.
