Cable TV veteran Nathanson set to become US ambassador to Prague

American cable TV veteran Marc Nathanson is set to become the new US ambassador to the Czech Republic, the daily Právo reported on Saturday. If Mr Nathanson gets appointed by President Barack Obama and approved by the US Senate, he could assume his post before the end of the year. The previous US ambassador to the Czech Republic, Richard Graber, left Prague in January.

Mr. Nathanson is currently the vice chair of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. A veteran of the cable television industry, he founded and served as chairman and CEO of Falcon Cable TV. He is also an active supporter of the Democratic Party.
