Zeman: we have been offered 260 billion CZK for CEZ

30-05-2002

The Czech Prime Minister Milos Zeman has said the Czech government has been unofficially offered 260 billion CZK, which is around 9 billion USD, for its majority stake in the power utility CEZ. The government has unsuccessfully tried to privatise the country's dominant power producer in a public tender but none of the bidders was willing to pay the asking price of 200 billion crowns, or 6 billion dollars.
