Believe it or not, over half of Czechs are not aware of the fact that credit cards exist, according to a poll conducted released recently. So what do Czechs do when they want to buy something and they haven't got the cash - well, a lot of them buy things in installments - or on the never-never, as it used to be known. People usually use the hire-purchase system to buy electronics and household goods - but you can also pay for such things as a holiday in installments. One third of Czech consumers buy goods in installments.
