Czech Science Klet Observatory shows "The World of Minor Planets"

Throughout the summer holidays, visitors to the Klet Observatory in South Bohemia can see an exhibition called "The World of Minor Planets". After that the observatory will undergo renovation. Founded in 1957, the Klet Observatory is a state supported research institution situated south of the top of Klet Mountain at the altitude of 1070 m.

TelescopeTelescope On average, there are 150 clear nights per year with good observation conditions, a significantly higher number than is the average for the Czech Republic. The observatory is situated around two hundred meters above the average top of the clouds, that typically form above the Czech basin during autumn and winter. The Klet Observatory specialises in the observation of near Earth objects and minor planets. Over 730 minor planets have been numbered at the observatory so far which makes Klet one of the most prolific world discovery sites.
