Business News Public tenders to be more transparent

14-02-2002 | Elena Horálková

The Lower House of Parliament has passed an amendment to the law on public tenders aimed at making selection procedures more transparent. The current law granted the government an exception from the law which meant that the government could but did not have to call a public tender for investment projects in the state sector. Both the Czech opposition parties and the European Union have criticised the government for overusing or rather misusing the exception.
