He already won the Czech Press Photo competition in 2010 with a black and white photo of a girl injured in the Haitian earthquake. This time, he managed to win with a picture taken on a simple cell phone.

Czech Press Photo was founded in 1995, and was inspired by the renowned World Press Photo competition based in the Netherlands. Photos are exhibited at the Czech Press Photo centre right next to Prague’s famous astronomical clock in Old Town Square. Almost 500 photographers submitted around 7,000 photographs to this year’s competition.
