The Czech number one, Jiri Novak, has won the 550,000-Euro Swiss Open
tennis tournament. After a great run of results, the Czech Republic's
volleyball team have finished in fourth place at the World Series finals
in Madrid. Jana Pechanova has taken silver in the 5 kilometre race at the
World Swimming Championships in Barcelona and boxer Rudolf Kraj has won
the second major medal of his career.
