More paper work for religious charities in the Czech Republic is the
outcome of a Constitutional Court ruling on Tuesday. The Court rejected a
complaint against a controversial 2005 amendment to the Act on Churches and
Religious Societies. As of now, every church-run charity in the Czech
Republic will have to register with the Culture Ministry.

the Czech Constitutional Court; they want to make sure it does not conflict

In 2004, the police asked a court in Prague for permission to tap the phone
of Jaroslav Capek, a restitution lawyer based in Hradec Kralove, East
Bohemia. The police were trying to prove that Mr Capek committed frauds

by aggressive dogs. In the past nine years ten people have been mauled to
death in such attacks. For years Czech lawmakers, vets and dog
psychologists have debated possible ways of curbing this form of violence
-but have never been able to agree on a widely acceptable solution. Now,
the Constitutional Court has moved to resolve the problem, making dog
owners directly responsible for their pets' behaviour.
