Letter from PragueWaiting for the blanket of grey to lift from over Prague
If you have been to Prague then you will be familiar with the magistrala,
the motorway which cuts through the top of Wenceslas Square, just in front
of the National Museum. I was shocked a couple of years ago to discover
that the road - which carries heavy traffic right through the centre of

staggering 118,000 driving offences - including over 20,000 cases of
speeding and almost a thousand cases of drink driving.

And on a more serious note, the papers all feature the news that Pope John

There are a variety of lead stories in Wednesday's Czech newspapers, with
carrying perhaps the most interesting: while the Civic
Democrats may expel MP Petr Kott for being too drunk to take part in
important votes, Mr Kott now says he would like to join the deputies'
